12 Days of Christmas Catch Up, day AAGH!!!!!!!: assessing the situation

If you're new to this, here's a reminder of what's going on at Awards Wiz. 12 days. 12 movies. Let's look at the list and honestly asses the situation.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Beach Rats
God's Own Country
Victoria & Abdul

The Breadwinner
Coco
The Disaster Artist
Pitch Perfect 3
The Shape of Water
Darkest Hour
Good Time
The Beguiled

Since I posted a couple of days ago, I haven't watched anything, which is completely understandable. Still recovering from a catastrophic migraine brought on by my love for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." OK...not exactly the case. And I've decided it's best to stay out of that debate, for now.

And we lost a dear family member a couple of days ago from a heart attack. It was sudden and devastating. What do I do with that? A couple of things. I keep watching movies. Ricky LOVED movies. And I know he would've loved the new Star Wars. Ok, OK. I'll let it go.

Today, it's time to make some adjustments. First of all, of the big end of year Oscar movies on my list, the only one coming to Oxford, MS, where I live, is "Pitch Perfect 3." So, tonight, after spending some time with my family (the 2nd adjustment!), I will say goodbye to the Bellas one last time. I need a laugh.

Tomorrow I will make the trek to Memphis to see "Darkest Hour" and "The Shape of Water," which leaves 3 days and 5 movies. Not going to happen. Especially considering, I believe my family and I are going to see "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" on Saturday and should watch at least one Christmas movie. I'm thinking it will be a death match between:

I think that leaves time for 2 additional movies. Since I will be home, there is no access to the internet (no screener links) so, it looks like I will have to watch 2 films that I have or can get in my posession. ("The Beguiled" and "Good Time) and bump the rest to later in the year/early next year.

I am a bit concerned that I will need to see "The Disaster Artist" next week because it very well might leave theaters in Memphis and never come to Oxford.

New plan!

Thursday
Pitch Perfect 3

Friday
Darkest Hour
The Shape of Water

Saturday
Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Sunday
Good Time
The Beguiled

Monday
The Breadwinner or Coco or who knows?

27 Days of Oscar, Day 17: Fighting the queer fight and Production Design

Reading that headline makes me laugh a bit. "Fighting the queer fight and Production Design." Not quite the perfect combination...
