On the fourth day of Christmas Catch Up
Today was a tough day...I was brought down to earth after a couple of disappointments. After lots of yes's this year I heard (or read) "no" more than I have in a while.
But let's begin on happier notes. SO....I have 9 more days to catch up and 19 more movies to watch. Not too shabby.
Right now I'm sitting at work on my break between doubles on my second day of doubles. I had every intention of watching a film on my break, but it looks like I'm only going to be able to watch half a film. "Upstream Color" is loading on my netflix right now. Should be able to get in an hour, at least. Maybe tonight I can finish it before I pack for Mississippi (leaving tomorrow morning) and hopefully fit in one more after that!
After work I am coming home to a few exciting screeners: "The Past," "Wadja" and "Blue Jasmine." Went to the premiere of "BJ" so I might save that until after the catch up. Unfortunately I think I got a second copy of "The Armstrong Lie" instead of "Tim's Vermeer." But that's ok...sadly it is off the list now. As is "Enough Said." They PR folks were quite kind...but they can't get me a screener. I am not worthy. (Kidding.)
I'm also working on putting together a FYC piece for Best Actress. Looks like I might be able to get an interview with Brie Larson...definitely getting Paulina Garcia (from "Gloria") and already have an interview with Julie Delpy. The missing link: Amy Adams. In the most disappointing news of the day: I was informed that I probably won't be able to get an interview with her...even though I am the only person out there saying she gives the best performance by a woman this year. Isn't this business funny? Oh well, I will keep trying. But when she is left ofF the Best Actress list I can honestly say it wasn't my fault.
OK..time to watch "Upstream Color."
Here is the updated list of movies I plan to watch...and what I've finished.
Blue is the Warmest Color
The Armstrong Lie
Ernest and Celestine
A Letter to Momo
Go For Sisters
Only God Forgives
Place Beyond the Pines
